Wyoming State Library Digital Collections

This database indexes United States patents from 1867 – Present, in which one or more of the inventors list Wyoming as their state of residence. Each record provides a link to the digital record from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) website. The database is updated monthly.

This library of legislative materials contains journals, or digests of the journals, from the first territorial legislature that convened in 1869 up to the present. It also contains digitized bills from 1873 to 2000, in addition to bill actions—a record of actions done on each introduced bill—from 1957-2000.

Discover the stories that formed Wyoming through Wyoming Newspapers. Making Wyoming’s historical newspapers available to the world for education and historical research, including genealogy, is the cornerstone of Wyoming Newspapers. Historians, genealogists, students and other scholars rely on them to provide a first-hand and sometimes the only account of local news. Many newspapers only lasted a short time and many have disappeared just like the boom-and-bust ghost towns of the past. Available through this website are newspapers printed in Wyoming beginning with the 1849 Chugg Water Journal, in an easily searchable format.

The purpose of Wyoming Places is to give the user information about the origin of the name of a place, a brief history of that place and stories about it. We are using original sources as well as published sources in the public domain. Names of the sources are given for those who want to do further research. We also link to online resources that relate to the place. These resources must be consistent with our focus and be authoritative, persistent and noncommercial.

This digital library contains publications produced by Wyoming governmental agencies. The bulk of the publications currently available online range from 1998 to present. For our initial launch, we are focused on making three series of publications available: annual reports, budget requests, and executive orders. This project is very much a work in progress. Please check back often as we will be adding content on a continuous basis.

The Wyoming Database of State Trademarks currently covers state trademarks issued between 1906-current located at the Wyoming Secretary of State’s Office. New applications and renewals are added monthly. This database will ultimately include the inactive applications and mark images for Wyoming trademarks located at the Wyoming State Archives, back to the first state trademark in 1881.
